PDO Threads

Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are colorless, bio-gradable synthetic polymer mono threads.

Mono threads are designed to address specific areas of the face and body where you would like to improve the skin elasticity, skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

They work by, stimulating collagen formation around the PDO tread, to develop its own matrix of new collagen over the course of a few months.

Results of the thread treatment generally last for one to two years.

A medical grade numbing cream is applied 20 minutes prior to the procedure for client comfort. The specially designed needle is used to minimise patient discomfort when inserting the threads into the skin. Some patients, however, experience mild soreness and swelling for a few days after the procedure.

Following your treatment, you will see visible lifting results immediately. However, the longer-term benefits, skin rejuvenation and tightening effects, will depend on your age and your body’s health response to stimulate the production of collagen.

Typically, patients will see results in 2-3 months. It is recommended that you have 2 treatments in the first 12 months to maximise the treatment effect.

PDO Treads are considered as a low-risk procedure. Threads lifts require only minimal recovery time. However, during the post-treatment phase, it is not uncommon to experience bruising, swelling, bleeding and slight redness and pain at the site of the thread injection.
